Nicole Kidman has suffered a broken ankle while self-isolating at home in Nashville during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fans first spotted the injury after she wore a boot to husband Keith Urban's benefit concert for frontline workers at a drive-in theater on Friday.
Keith says she was "hobbling around" the concert to support him and celebrate the medical workers nonetheless.
Even though she's been self-isolating at home in Nashville during the COVID-19 pandemic, Nicole Kidman sustained a painful injury after breaking her ankle — she didn't let it stop her from supporting husband Keith Urban and frontline workers, though. While he played a surprise benefit concert for medical workers from the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Tennessee on Friday, the 52-year-old actress was spotted on the grounds of the Stardust Drive-In with a medical brace on her right foot. While Nicole shared photos and videos on Instagram honoring her husband's tribute to healthcare heroes, she cropped her feet out of the photo; it wasn't until another snapshot from the event was posted elsewhere that fans began to wonder why Nicole was sporting the boot.
"She broke her ankle, but she's a trooper," Urban told Entertainment Tonight after the photo was shared on Instagram. "There she was last night among all of the folks, hobbling around on her boot with her mask on."
After Keith shared a video recap of his pop-up performance on Instagram, where more than 200 hospital employees gathered in their cars to jam out, a few fans asked him what had happened to Nicole. One user quipped, "Nicole, did you hurt your foot dancing to the music? Heal quickly," while another commented, "Hope you are not in pain. Get well Nicole."
Many fans commented on both Nicole and Keith's Instagram posts to wish the actress a speedy recovery, with messages of support, like the one posted by this Twitter user below.
Oh gosh I just saw that Nicole Kidman is in that boot because she broke her ankle. @KeithUrban you’re going to be babying your wife for the next month, but again she is your ‘Baby Girl’ ❤️— Deb Meissner ♥️☮♥️ (@dgm2) May 15, 2020
We're not sure if Keith plans to host more free concerts for healthcare workers in Tennessee or beyond, but we'd bet that Nicole will continue to support him and those heroes if he does — boot be damned.
